I would go for the 4670K but I think more future games will be using more than 4 threads than many people assume.

The 4770k is a nice compromise IMO, go for it. I'm planning to install mine in the next few weeks after the GPU picture is little more clear

Also keep in mind Skylake is probably less than two years away (DDR4/PCIe4.0?), I mean of course if that interests you :)

I'm probably going to go 4670K now after looking at this http://www.techspot.com/review/712-arma-3-benchmarks/.I think I'll keep the 920 as well as I need a second gaming machine and one with HT available would be a boost. I was about to pull the trigger on a 4770K setup but I just don't really believe any ARMA3 performance issues are totally CPU related as often it performs really well and other times not so well. BF4 benchmarks will probably help sway me one way or another and I can always upgrade the 4670K to 4770K if a miracle happens. Can't really believe how well my current setup continues to perform.

Building new rig, waiting on what the 9970 brings in performance terms before pulling the trigger. I will buy two 9970's OR two 780's OR two 7990's depending on price/performance as I'm used to quadfire so have no issues with it I can't deal with. I want to know if a 4770k will bottleneck them and whether I should go 4930K. I'll be shooting for maximum overclock on whichever CPU I buy cooled probably with a corsair H100i.
I game at 1920/1200 but will be stepping up to single monitor 1440 or possibly 1080 Eyefinity.
Which should I get (I only use PC for gaming) and while money won't be a problem I won't spend it just for the sake of it or bragging rights but will do for tangible performance gains.
My advice to you and this is coming from somebody who sells and ugrades every year whether is cpu or video cards. You have the I7 920 The Haswell E is coming in 22 months or less that is almost 2 years. 2x780 and 4770 k even non overclock is a beast. Do not pay attention to the people that say hot hot hot a 4770 k @ 4.5 is like having an ivy @ 5ghz and then some. I saw the performance results on ivy 4960 and when it comes to games the 4770 k comes slightly better in some instaces. Sit on a 4770 k system for 2 years sell it for 50% like I do and then upgrade to octacore monster pc that will really make a huge difference. Believe me when I tell you not until I got 4770k I could play fsx smooth all the way with a single 780 gtx maximun settings. Flight simulator is probably the most cpu game demanding that there is. I now can enjoy a monster computer in mini itx form factor due to haswell release. Good luck
ps// by the way I am done with the upgrading I found the sweet spot on the FSX with this latest upgrade. lol But it just so addictive
