-47 F CPU temperature?

All:

I am using Intel's Desktop Utilities to measure my CPU temps; I have a Core 2 Duo 6400, and the MB is an Intel 965WH. I am using a Zalman 9500 cooler with Arctic Silver 5 paste...Any idea what might be causing this? All my other MB readings and fan speeds are in the normal range. The rig is running just fine as well.

Try CoreTemp ( http://thecoolest.zerobrains.com/CoreTemp ).
It's the only program ( ok, Intel T.A.T. [ Intel Thermal Analysis Tool ] aswell ) that reports the true temperature of the cores.

As for Intel's Desktop Utilities reported CPU temp, you got that problem from day 1 or it suddenly appeared ?

Thank you for the quick reply! Coretemp is reporting temps of 99F and 97F for the cores, and Everest is reporting about the same...sound about right for my processor? I was getting the negative temperature from Day 1 with the Intel software.
