4625 miles later, I arrived in AZ

Still in a hiring process with Tempe, but haven't been given an offer yet. There are a few armed security positions available so I'll go for those as well.

tempe is a fun place to be, so you should enjoy it. as long as the heat doesnt kill ya. good move getting here at the end of the season, gives you a few months to acclimate to warmer weather before it really hits next spring.

that pic of AZ looks like it could be my dads backyard in cave creek, hehe.

and cars dont disappear that quickly, especially those. old cadillacs however... those will disappear out of your driveway. like mine did.

The only thing LA was good for is Rodeo Drive... if you like that kinda stuff. San Diego on the other hand is amazing.

LA is ok, good beaches and lots of weird people to watch. i wandered hollywood blvd for about 7 hours one trip as a teen, met up with a roving band of skinheads that were causing trouble at one point, a bunch of rockers in bands and lots of girls in almost nothing. met up with many different kinds of people throughout the day, lots of fun was had.

i do agree about SD tho, love that place.

Haha...yeah, I can't say I miss it up there. It's 36 degrees in Lebanon now. With 99% humidity. That's just ridiculous.

Yep, I'm not really looking forward to the next two weeks at work here. Fortunately the lows are back up to the 40s-50s instead of the 39 I saw forecast last week.

I recently moved out of California to be near family,it took me 27 hours straight to do the 1,700 miles out to hot springs,Arkansas,i rest for about 6 days before friends out near Birmingham,Alabama invite me to visit,being another 400 or so miles.

But wow 4625 hours,was that straight on or stops?I stopped about 8 times for 5 minute stretches,stopped once to eat for 20 mins and filled up my car about 2 times on the initial trip out to hot springs.

My ass was so freaking sore and it was the first time i ever drove pass 250 miles on a single trip that being to Vegas.

the ride across country was rough in the box truck! even with stops in texas and ohio. so much driving so little sleep that was another 3100miles think i drove 2800 of them 😀 id do it again thats for sure mabye a different car. old 80 caddy or a towncar comes to mind overstuffed velour seats are a must.

Roadtrips are awesome. Pity gas prices have gotten so much higher...I was lucky enough to be doing most of my road trips in the 2001-2005 window, when the post-9/11 slump made it really affordable.

I keep meaning to take a "proper" road trip (pure highway, no freeway), but the US is just so BIG!

I went Seattle -> Baltimore in my MR2. Towing a trailer the whole way.😉

Granted, there were two of us...which meant that if my butt started getting too tired, I could switch out and ride the motorcycle instead. One word: Perspective.
