I'm spec'ing out a gaming rig for a buddy and here's what I've got thus far:

74 GB Raptor for main
320 GB perpendicular for data
2 GB Corsair EPP
Zalman AM2 cooler
DVD burner
Antec NeoHE 550

For video I'm thinking either 7900GT signature OR 7950GX2 and for processor I'm stuck between a 4600+ or a 4800+ (assuming I could find 4800+).

How big of a difference will the smaller cache make on the 4600+ compared to the 4800+. And will a 4600+ be okay with a 7950GX2?

Thanks!

performance difference will be 0-5% depending on the app...i don't think the performance is worth the 100$...i'd go with the 4600+...

the 4600+ should be fine with the 7950gx2...but overclocking won't hurt either...
