I'm no expert but after some reading I heard the twin fans are nice, but don't know about Gigabyte brand for graphics card.

If I had to choose i'd get the ASUS, I thrust them.

The Asus card has the volt mod built in and the "better" VRM setup with additional phases etc. It even has that stabilizer bar along the side to make sure the PCB isn't/doesn't bend. It's quite luxurious as far as the GTX460 goes imo. I'd go with it over the Gigabyte.

I take it you are at 1920 so I would not go for a 768mb model. on average the gtx460 768mb is only about 10-15% faster than your current gtx260 so it would be a waste of money. according to techreport, in Just Cause 2 it is actually slower than the gtx260 at 1920.

Just cause is only one game.. the benchmarks I saw even with the 216 were on average around 40%, but thanks. :)

Also, that card is already sold, but the chief issue is that I sold it to get a 460, because the 260 does not correctly render video signal to a DLP TV.. :)

about a 10-15% difference between the gtx260 and gtx460 768mb. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Point_Of_View/GeForce_GTX_460_TGT_Beast/28.html

its not much of an upgrade at all but if your 260 is sold then it doesn't matter. I would personally would go with the ASUS but really either one is fine. :)

Ordered the Asus, thanks.

Right Toyota, I didn't do it for performance. I want to use my DLP for gaming, and the 260 doesn't render the image correctly. :)

toyota is right. if you're at 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 you are MUCH better off with the 1gb card. I just went from a gtx 260 to a gtx 460 - 768, even with a 900 core I'm only ~ 30% faster.

edit: interesting about the dlp rendering issue. is this a fundamental flaw with the 260, is it a new feature added for the 460, etc? I still have a couple 260's and I could see trying to game with them on the dlp one day.

I've tested a couple games on maximum in-game settings (Fallout 3 and Divinity II: Ego Draconis). I was able to to fill the frame buffer on my 1GB GTX 460 on both games (Fallout 3 in one spot in the "Point Lookout" area and Divinity II anywhere outdoors) on a 22" monitor @ 1680x1050. The card is powerful enough to run these settings, but the VRAM doesn't cooperate at times. I used Afterburner to check and they were definitely hitting 1GB memory used.

I'd suggest the 1GB model as well.

Bryan, it exists on the 8800 also. I assume it's because the 460 has an HDMI port as opposed to using an adapter, but dvi-hdmi adapter renders correctly on my LCD. I won't know until it gets here.
It could be windows 7. Or it could be that my cousin had the ONE exactly correct verson of nvidia drivers *lol*, because I tried 3. :)

As I said Ley, I ordered already.

Also, the benchmarks I've seen only state about 5-10% difference in performance from 768 to 1gb, whereas price is 32%.

And I was told the 768 OC's even higher, further reducing that difference.

well overclocking will never make up the difference for running out of vram. there will be some games where you will have to lower the settings that you could otherwise play if you had more than 768mb. anyway since you already have the card on the way its only a few games where 768mb will not quite be enough. remember if you get some hitching make sure you check the vram usage to see if that's the reason.
