$46 case from newegg, worried about ps

Hi, long time reader, first time writer 😉 and I'm building my first system by myself. I'm thinking of selling my 1.4 ghz tbird to a friend and buying an 1800+ XP and am looking for a cheapo case on newegg and found this one. It has great reviews, but the highest anyone has used it that reviewed it was using a 1600+ XP. The case is the EN-72370X3C4 and if you go here and check it out http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...ry=1231&DEPA=1 (I don't know if this is going to turn out being a link first time you know) its the $46 one like I said in my title. It's a 300 W ps and it looks like the +3.3 V and +5 V are 165 W max (maybe its 155 W the pic is pretty blurry). Well I'm wondering if this will be enough for a 1800+ XP and a 7200 rpm WD HDD, a 56x CD-rom, a 12x burner, a DVD and the standard stuff. Thanks a lot in advance, and sorry if I rambled on a bit.

that's a very good case and PSU for the money....i've built plenty of systems around it

i have a friend who just actually built an XP1600 around one, and the 1800's aren't much different

don't worry, you'll be fine

cool, thanks a lot. I searched pricewatch for the supply too, and it says in one of the descriptions that it supports 1500+ to 1800+ so looks like I'll be ok 🙂

yeah, you seriously cannot beat that enlight 7237 combo for best case and psu for the price

it's been 46 bucks on pricewatch for what seems like forever, and i've ordered it countless times!

Yep, just built my 3rd XP system for someone built around it and it's a great case.I like the the slide in 51/2" bays but wish the PSU had a on/off switch on it, but other than that 1 complaint it's great.

Since you're getting it, you might pick up a chromed 80mm fan grille and nip out the stock grillework where the rear auxiliary fan is, then use the grille. Actually, get the $8 Enermax adjustable-speed fan, it comes with a gold-tone grille, fan screws and a 3-pin-to-4-pin adapter. The grille will allow better airflow and looks better too. The adjustable-speed feature is nice, you can crank it up in the summer. 🙂 You can put the adjustable one in the rear and use the stock one in the front. Drill the bezel holes bigger so the fan isn't choked off.

If you get the 340W power supply, that one's AMD-recommended for all Athlons and AthlonXPs currently available.
