right now my settings for my new 310WMPW 1700+ are 200x11, at 1.5v
winbond hardware doctor says my CPU temp right now s 46.5C when im burning as disc and surfing the net

i have a vantec stealth on my CPU
is this too high for a normal JIUHB 1700+ oc'ed to those speeds?

and will i be able to hit 2.3-2.4ghz if i pump the voltage to say 1.6-1.65 volts?
should i pump up my VDIMM along with that too and should i keep my timings as "by speed" or should i change it to turbo?

system specs:
NF7-S rev 2.0
OCZ PC3200 2x256
Vantec Stealth/AX-7 on JIUHB 1700+ 310WPMW
voltage at 1.55 right now
2200 (200x11)
memory at 400, 9 4 4 2 (that's what it says in descending order in my BIOS)

thanks

nah, thats safe. a general rule is keep it under 50c at full load and you should be fine. my 1800+ A hits 55@load in this hot game room, and i never have a problem, tho i would like it cooler.

No, that's not too hot at all.

Feel lucky. I have to use 1.8 volts to get my 2100+ to run at 2270MHz. My temps are 52c idle and 58c at load. I've an OLD cooler. Have an SLK900 on the way.

58c doesn't even bother me. I know these CPU's can take it. ;)

I wouldn't worry about it. Dang... 2200MHz at 1.5 volts?? Man, I would be cranking on that CPU. :D

The NF7-S shows it's temps ~8-10C high. Get the latest BIOS (1.4) and it fixes it.

Gravija: Can you list the exact stepping for the cpu? 2200 mhz at default voltage is very impressive. Did you get the cpu from newegg?
thanks

That is definetly not hot. Also 50C is not hot either, these processors can run nicely up to about 70C even though you might want to re-evaluate your cooling if it gets anywhere in the 62C+ range.

i got it from excaliberpc.com
everytime i run prime95 it gives me some error or other, but before i could do it at stock voltage for hours...
its stable under games, except it rebooted once in enter the matrix, nevertried that game again though
war3 and d2x (the ones ive tried) work fine under those conditions

I would be a bit concerned over those errors. They are probably not anything threatening, but you can probably get rid of them by upping your voltage to 1.6v or something without much extra heat. That proccessor could probably hit 2.3 or 2.4GHz, but I would not try it with your current temps.

I thought that the default voltage was 1.6V, am I wrong?
My 1700+ week 12, 2003 also runs hot, 55C loaded. 1.65V.

my 1700+ AT DEFAULT 1.5V shows as 45 C IDLE with a SLK800 and samrt fan two cranked up all the way. i dont trust these numbers so i'm gonna get a digidoc and see for myself

1700+ TBred Bs were made with 2 Vcores, DUT3C's with 1.6v VCore and DLT3C's with 1.5v VCore. I believe all DLT3Cs were made before week 11 2003, but I may be wrong. The DLT3Cs are generally the better overclockers.

I currently have a DUT3C at 1.65V at 2GHz. I am using a SLK800 to cool it with a fan that is probably putting out 15-18CFM. With 30c case temps I get 35c idle cpu, 40 max. This is with my A7N8X Deluxe with uber1005 bios.

i have a DLT3C with an slk800 and smart fan II pushing 76 CFM and my temps are 45 degrees idle :Q

I think I remember you saying you have an NF7. You can't honestly compare the temps across the 2 boards. Still, your temps do seem a bit high.

voltage is usually what kills athlons these days, not so much the heat
so as long as it isn't locking up you'll prob be alright in these kinda cases
