IIRC - 6 is supposed to represent man because man was created on the 6th day and 7 is the number of God because God rested on the 7th day. So 777 represents the holy trinity and 666 represents making a "Holy" trinity out of man, which is evil and equals the devil. The specifics of all of this escape me. Sorry

This is another step toward a government that will be able to track and keep tabs on you, with or without your consent. What advantage does this actually offer us, the humble private citizen/consumer? Do you feel the federal government is trustworthy enough now (and will be in the future) to let them tag and track you? Are there enough laws on the books to prevent the government from abusing this kind of data? Where in the constitution does it grant the federal government authority to mark us in this manner?

The Canadian federal government has been using 666 as part of their phone numbers for years now, ex. 666-1234. Does this have anything to do with the Beast? Does it perhaps have to do with using a number that no one else wants?

It should also be noted that many Chinese consider 6 to be a lucky number, does that mean anything?

As others have stated, the prohpecies concerning the Mark of the Beast are very specific, focussing on one aspect will lead you on wild goose chases.

I must protest as this material did not originate from WombatWoman. Not everything that is hip begins in ATOT. Besides, I wasn't even here when that thread came aboot.

My friend and I had this list (partially borrowed, I will admit) years ago, before common Internet usage. Way back when - when you got everything from the mailroom...

Just do a google on some of the Beasts and you can see old sites that list these too.


And too, this would have required me to do a search on this topic to find WW's stuff and I am waaaaaaaaaay too lazy for that.

Actually, the number three is the most of something. So, if you take 6 three times, you get the most imperfect thing out there. Thus we have 666.

Saw them last summer here in Houston and yes they played Number of the Beast. Now if I remember correctly the song is actually about a cult that infiltrates a town, which the local sheriff trys to investigate and purge, but instead becomes entrapped in their bidding. It's not a calling of the masses to join satanism.

And I want to echo pyonir's response to TheEvil1. It's nonsensicle arguments like that that give us "fence-sitters" a bad name. I may not have the same beliefs as PastorDon, but I respect his beliefs and can argue against his points without being sarcastic or crude.

I heard that the 6's when read in Hebrew actually stand for letters. I believe they spelled out Nero's name, one of the cruelest Roman emporers to the early Christians. It was a reminder that the one who is coming will be as cruel and terrible as Nero.

For those who may not know, Nero burnt Rome, destroyed tons of property and blamed it on the Christians. Kicked his pregnant wife to death. Tried to murder his own mother. Subjected the Roman people to horrible public displays of his own insanity which they could not escape except by death. Was basically insane and finally was stabbed to death by an inside coup.
