<< Anyone know where I can pick up some 40X media? >>

Try Verbatim DataLifePlus. Their 32x should work from what I heard. The only place I know that sells these locally is Beast Buy.. cough.. I mean Best Buy.

well, i got my plex40/12/40a a few weeks ago and tried the datalifeplus 32x @ 40x and i got data burns that worked, but because the folks at plex require music to be burned @ 24x on this burner i have'nt tried burning music @ 40x on the 32x verbatim blanks for fear of making mini-frisbees with the good stuff.

plextor recommends 40x cd-r's made by memorex and sells them (or links them?) on their site, but buying them at the price they're asking is something i'm not willing to do. :)

i have the lite on 40X and i tried burning music on Imation 16X at 40X speed, 2 outta 5 came out perfect. Also for data burn, i burnt a divx movie one and copied a data CD on the other, they both came out good.

Its only music that didnt come out great when i burnt on the 16X.
