40pin 80-conductor ribbon for ata 100

Any half-decent computer shop should have them too - or PC World and the likes of it (though they tend to be quite overpriced). Never had problems finding the blighters...

It isn't 80 conductor (despite what some sites call it) only 40 of the pins conduct anything the other 40 are just insulating/sheilding to cut down on cross talk.

i never used those specific ones...

but i do have 24" unrounded that i ordered from pccables, as well as 24" rounded cables that i ordered from pccables...

Now that both of those will be rounded I wish I could have the floppy drive ribbon rounded...I think I saw a post here some time back which described how to make that cable rounded ??? I can't remember though... Does anyone have a rounded floppy drive cable?

THanks

Most people just make their own round cables from regular flat cables. There are a few ways of doing it. You can do a search on on round cables here at these forums and find plenty of info and links on how to do these.
