I hate how they are pushing 4k for TVs instead of monitors. Never mind TVs, I want 4k on a computer monitor, at an affordable price. Computer monitors is where pixel real estate actually matters.

Not following your logic, mate.

1) Who is 'they'? Certainly not the broadcasters themselves

2) 4k exists already on computer monitors...and prices have been going down like crazy...and 4k content exists already for computers

3) The sooner we have 4k content on TVs, the quicker 4k displays of all sorts will both improve and come down in price (AND the sooner increased pixel real estate on a TV will 'matter' to a more meaningful extent).

Go read some professional reviews and get informed. Vizio has budget sets yes but they also make really nice sets that compete well with LG and Samsung

Yup. I seriously expect to see 4K displays at reasonable prices by the end of this year. I was going to buy a projector but I'm currently just going to wait for a 70 inch display with full back light array at 4K resolution for under 3 grand now.

Probably wont purchase though til 2015, when broadcasters/movies start getting more 4k content out there and when second gen of 4K tvs are out.
