It must be nice for those who have a Fry's near them. Not all of us have one nearby. Fry's deals are always YMMV, even if you have one closeby IMHO.
 
have you noticed how there are barely any good deals on seagates, but loads on maxtors/hitachi?

have you noticed that everyone but seagate now has a 1 year warranty?

that's because seagates are about the only drives worth buying these days (wd sata are ok, not ide) and maxtor/hitachi are crap.

i really want a 40gb seagate ata100 for my new boot drive (anything bigger is a waste as i only use about 15gb on my os+programs drive) certainly don't want the maxtor ata133 problems, or hassles of booting from sata....
