Wow, it looks like svcompucycle.com added a 40CFM YS-Tech version of the Golden Gate with a 4-pin power connector and a separate 3-pin RPM sensor. The fan uses a whopping 7.2 watts!! no wonder it comes with a separate power connector. I'm going to order one right now. I wonder what it sounds like?

I'll go for the 27cfm version. I want to be able to sleep with my PC still running, tried a Delta once and it was harsh.

anyone knows how the 40 cfm ys-tech sounds like? I mean anything other than just loud. I can't stand my delta anymore but the 27cfm fan is not cutting it on my 1.2@1.4 tbird.

What's the thermal dissipation from the processor on these things?

(That's all the really matters, right? CFM simply one means to that end?)

At least it has a separate 3-pin connector as well as the 4-pin unlike the Delta, so you can get the RPM reading without blowing out your motherboard header

hmm, i'm a lil confused:

"High performance 40 CFM Delta fan"
"SVC Golden Gate 40CFM YS-Tech"

and that's from the same page. so which is it, the delta or the YS-tech?

<< according to the site, the YS 40 cfm is 48 dB, the Delta is 46.5 dB. >>

So if I can tolerate the Delta, then the 40cfm ain't 1/2 bad eh?
Human hears thing in db, so 48db and 46.5 db is like nothing.
