Viper,

Whether it's typical for a 15 year old to be brain dead nowadays is irrelevant... his attitude towards life as it is for him at the moment as well as your trying to come up with some logical backing for his attitude still makes me have the urge to spew.

And even though I left home at the age of just over 15 years and had no contact with family or friends till the age of 18 an a half but was able to live, survive and provide for my existance the entire time on my own... No, I don't think that has much to do with my thoughts on this.

It's more like... any 15 year old that says

<< she dont like how i Only do things i want to do. >>

and means it... deserves nothing less than one hell of a good spanking.

hippy...

Since when did I try to come up with a logical backing for his attitude? Does:

But the point is correct. Until you have a full time job & pay rent, you have no right to "Only do things (you) want to do."

constitute support to you? I am in no way condoning his attitude. But he's a typical 15 year old. Just like all of us were at one point. There's no reason for us to tear him a new one for childish behavior, because he is a child.

And if you try to come to the conclusion that I must have been the same way, you'd be dead wrong. I'm 18 now, & I've been working full time since I was 16, paying rent since I was 17.

But that doesn't give me the right to ream a 15 year old for acting like a 15 year old.

Nothing worse than the shrill whining of a spoiled brat, is there?

Another vote for a beat-down.

Viper,

maybe I'm gettin to damn old but from my recollection, the age of 15 is old enough to know what attitude means... let alone the difference between a good one and a bad one.

... Anyways, I gotta go to Hot Tuna Live... love to talk about this later though.

Hey, when I was 15 I was working part time, going to school, and keeping the house clean.

Families are about working and living together!

Paying the rent and bills gives your mom authority. When you have your own place, you can do things the way you want to.

Hey, what are you complaining for? When I was fifteen I helped take care of an autistic brother, a father who could not walk, and my baby brother. My mom could not do it all, so I helped wherever I could. At seven years old I knew how to make dinner, and clean a house until it shined. Sounds like you have it pretty easy, so quit your complaining and help your mother! ;)

On an unrelated note, anyone else instantly think that the message topic ( :( ), when underlined, looks like it has a teardrop?

On a related note, why does CompFreek randomly capitalize words?
