The bios sees the 74gig 10,000RPM SATA150 Raptor hard drive, but when i boot from my win2000pro cdrom, it says it can't find any hard drive???

Do i need to change a jumper setting on the hard drive???

I don't think so cause it is seeing the hard drive no problem.

are there drivers i need to install for the intel sata shipset when installing win2000????

I just built a intel 865chipset from scratch and the sata drivers were on the win 2000 disc, so i don't understand why i need them for a 875chipset motherboard????

Need help, anyone????

Ok i figured out that it is seeing the hard drive, but for some reason it says i has 2 partitions , each 71gb, like i haVE 2 74GIG RAPTORS INSTALLED????

tHIS IS SOME FREAKY STUFF, it is now formating the first partition, no problem, but what the heck will happen if i try to use the non-exsistent 71gig partition????

I had this raptor in a raid-0 array in my nf7-S 2.0, i guess the left over raid is causeing this weird stuff, but don't know how to correct it????

load the sata driver (by floppy)in the drivers section before windows installs.you have to specify the driver before loading

IE push F6 when it asks for 3rd party drivers for RAID or SCSI
