What you call a winner I call someone who has more money than sense. That array in a business environment I can see, but for a home user it's completely ridiculous and a waste.

Not really. I have over 1.2TB in hard drive space, most of which is used for video editing. Some key clips use little or no compression, so gigs are used up quite easily.

My main machine houses 2x 80gig 8MB buffer HDs in a RAID0 setup...crammed in a Shuttle SB51G. Top it off with a DVR-105, and the thing runs HOT! But it's a great box for video editing.

Definitely - but back to the theme - all they've done is cram 2 drives in 1 box. You want to get into a p!$$!ng contest get a $50 (or less) USB to IDE external box and slam in your best HOT DEAL hard drive. You will probably be able to end up with a cost of about $1.GB. And then next month/fall/winter you can swap out that tiny 250GB hard drive for a 1TB drive.

$850 for 400GB is a ripoff. My office has been buying the Maxtor 250GB externals for $400 from CompUSA for weeks. A little Duct tape and you've got 500GB for $800 plus the cost of the tape.

What's so hot about this? It's pretty expensive.

BTW, 500GB = 2x 250GB HDDs in a single enclosure.

Amongst all the clutter it looks like threse's a tube of KY sitting ontop of his rig.

.. not sure what that would be used for.

Guess 100s of Gigs of storage, porn, and KY all go - hand-in-hand..

Rig with KY on top?

video editing = pr0n editor!

RAID0 setup = pr0n server!

DVR-105 = pr0n distributor!
