is 40 degrees celcius normal for this processor?

i was playing bf2 for like 30 minutes when my pc froze. i couldnt press any keys on the keyboard. i had to hold the power button to shut it off.

i have a bfg 7800gtxoc graphics card. the 3dmark05 score was 8012. i also have 2 gb of memory.
please help. i love this game, but i hate it when it freezes.

I would be curious to see what your VC temps are. I know these sucker get hotter than I like, and with your's being an OC model I'd bet it gets a bit hotter than mine.

If your VC is getting too hot, it could cause the problem you are experiencing.

i have the latest video card drivers.
now the game how do i which patch to download.
there are three patches out for the game.
do i have to download all three patches or just install the latest one?
if i have to dowload all 3 patches how do i know which patch already came with the game?

You just need to install the 1.3 patch (or is it 1.03?) and that will take care of you.

In your video card drivers you can see the 7800GTX temp. Open the advanced video options under the right-click, properties tab from the desktop. Click on the GeForce tab and on the left there will be a 'temperature' selection. This will show you the current core temp of your gpu.
