Those thugs are probably aware of the surveillance system and are taking advantage of the situation. If any are underage their parents should be held accountable for their actions too.

Meh, I dunno...I did stupid shit that my parents weren't aware of. Nothing like this of course. My parents were held financially liable once when I broke some stuff at a Christian summer camp they forced me to go to. Never had to go back though

It's likely many are underage, as I haven't seen any update news with names or faces.

They're basically telling "unspecified minorities" that they can do this with impunity. Knowing they're less likely to be recognized, identified, or caught will encourage minorities to do it more. Then minorities will be further associated with this stereotype as a direct result of BART's attempt to suppress it.

Getting passengers from point A to point B safely should be the priority for BART. The ones who should be concerned about perpetuating stereotypes are the perpetrators themselves.

How so? The story seems to be about releasing them to the media not preventing anyone from investigating crimes. Repercussions come from criminal prosecution not from a video where the faces will be blurred because most of them were under age.

Where specifically does it say they aren't investigating and charging as appropriate? This seems to be a lot of noise around the video not being released to the public.
