The inauguration is estimated to cost $30 million to $40 million, which private donations will cover. The estimate includes security costs not covered by the federal and local government. Security is expected to be tight for the first inauguration since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

wow. owned.

True .. WE ARE ALL OWNED by those who are giving money to buy influence from our government.

Hey look - another Bush-bash thread yapping about gov't disaster funding. I guess we should just forget about the private DONATION aspect. Oh wait - that'd make this apples to oranges comparison even more ridiculous than it already is.

Oh and I best not forget this: :cookie:

CsG

Do you cut and paste this drivel over and over in threads on purpose? or do you have the quip bleat and run down to a knee jerk reaction?
*just curious I am doing a study about freeper trolls* 😉

Well it does work pretty well as a universal "stfu/owned" statement for P&N. 🙂

What does that $40million go towards? Doesn't he just stand on a stage, put his hand in the air and repeat some words?

9 Inaguration balls. 250,000 people from all 50 states invited.

No crap many are from donations but not all of it. Even still the government could put that money elsewhere. They don't HAVE to use it on balls and what not. There are way to many events for one guy just to say a speech and gain his title.

I'll just repeat what was in another donation thread. The initial 35 million was all that was left in the USAID budget (the agency in the State Dept responsible for foreign aid) Politicians could not blindly promise anything over that 35 million because it just wasn't in the budget. Now it is.

they must have read this thread, they just upped the aid by 1000% to $350 million

Check your math, that's 10% not 1000% :disgust:

If they upped it 10% from 35 mill, that would only be 38.5 mill. Is this what they are teaching in junior high these days? Looks like they need to pour more money into our education system.
