Hmm... what kind of things can you do with a CB radio? listen to emergency channels? talk to truckers?

It'll transmit and receive (thus the need for the volume control)... so if you were looking to listen with it, it'll work just fine.

You'll likely need to get an antenna and have to splice into a power source (like a cigarette lighter adapter). Also, you're suppose to get a license or register a handle to use this (at least to transmit) legally.

I'm not sure that you need a license to transmit with a 4watt radio in the CB frequency range. I believe that you once did, but not any long.
 
yeah I'm pretty sure you don't need a license anymore to transmit on the CB band with a 4 watt radio, now if your talking Ham radio thats another story 🙂 hehe
