Skoorb, no I'm not kidding. At the age of 4, I didn't know that motor oil was bad for kittens.

Most 4 years old really don't have a firm grasp yet on life or death, and consequences of their actions.

I think people are missing the point here: "historically serial killers get their start at VERY young ages, by killing animals." And yes this is a proven fact.

Damn 12 kittens!! :(

whitelight, yeah I thought that too. The kid must have used teeth.

Tauren, that is true - it does lend some prediction. Of course most young boys have at least had a run in with something kinda gross, such as torturing ants with a magnifying glass, or ripping off spider legs. My older brother (has yet to kill a human) once tore off frog legs while we were camping and they were still alive. Or did he use his tennis racket on them? He did one of those things. Not nice, but some kids do go through little phases. I don't know if I'd call murdering and eating a cat a phase though :)

Wasn't there an HBO special about people eating cats over in China?
They were cooking them alive. It was gross. Poor cats

Hecubus - I remember when I lived in Singapore, they ate dogs. I don't find this repulsive just because we have domesticated them. But, I do find a child THAT young killing and eating the family PET very disturbing.

A kitten is diffetent as far as killing one goes but a grown mature cat just doesn't seem right, espcially if your starving and have very little strength @ the age of 4. I guess its a Dog eat Dog world...

My son when he was three, tucked two of my kittens into a safe, with a little blanket and pillow. They were in there for a week before I found them. He didn't realize what he was doing at the time, and now he is nine and wouldn't dream of killing an animal.

jamison: Sorry, I should have made it clear that my entire post was not directed at you. Those lines where for the people calling for the childs death.

I dunno if its because of how you explained it but if they had of only been in there for a few hours that would have been kinda cute :)

Reading the story again...I wonder if it isn't some kind of hoax?

I find it hard to believe that a kid that age would be able to think of a way to catch the thing...and then stomach the taste of raw meat/organs after gutting it. The article says he ate "most of the cat before he was spotted"...which just doesn't sound right to me.

When it comes over the AP wire with some corroborating evidence then maybe I will believe it.

Why is it so bad that the kid ate a cat? Did you imagine your purebred Fluffy as the "victim"? Sounds to me like he was veeerryy hungry. Natural instincts kick in, wahlah, eaten cat. It was easy for him, and I'm sure you all know that this happens everyday, but usually, the meat is cooked. He is too young to know the dangers of raw meat, but if you ask me, that is a perfect demonstration of human nature. You are hungry = you eat. No boundaries when you are 4. I sure his mom is poor, and that had a little to do with it. If it were a deer, would it have been better? Oh, wait, you imagine Bambi. What sickens me is the lack of understanding here.

Is this site for real? I'm reading some of the other stories and finding them very hard to believe. "Woman 'ate neighbour's dog and cat'" and "Woman in a stew after husband cooks pet cat" are much more desturbing then this story. Crazy Romanians...

Um, looking at the rest of the stories on this site I don't know how trust worthy this "news" is.

And, I'm Romanian, and trust me... none of this stuff goes on, and it's not some dead poor pet-eating country. Either this story is fake or they sure went out of their way to find some real freaks.

So, please don't go thinking that all Romanians eat pets and do things to corpses and what not.

He wouldn't have to be that strong, using a noose or something it might have even been an accident (gosh I hope so :Q) but then again I'm sure the eating of said cat wasn't accidental.

Can we assume no supervision here? I think so!

he ate it raw. This shows a morbid taste of blood that is by no means natural for a four year old in romania.

Unless you thought you were giving them a bath in the motor oil I'm not sure what you were doing.

you can educate him all you'd like.. serial killers typically have an above average IQ anyway.

He should be under heavy observation for the remainder of his childhood years though.

About the authenticy of the stories, the rest of the stories, besides those about Romania, look to be all real.

Also in their terms and conditions, it says they write all stories to the upmost accuracy possible.
Maybe Romania just is really odd?

Woman 'ate neighbour's dog and cat'

Police in Romania say they have arrested a woman for eating her next-door neighbour's dog and cat.

The woman had lived off stray dogs and cats for the past two years, saying she had no money to buy food because she was unemployed.

She was charged after her next-door neighbour in the village of Obrejita, County Vrancea, found the skins of her dog and cat in the woman's garden.

Her neighbour says: "My animals had been missing for a week and then I found the remains in her garden."
