People who are doing testing to see what kind of setups perform better, even if it is according to synthetic benchmarks. I asked about a week ago if someone could post some Raptor HD Tach 3 results, but no one gave... Thanks a lot. What kind of controller are you using? I'm having to decide now what setup to do, cause that is pretty impressive. I'm either going to add more disks to my RAID 5 array, or make me a 3-disk RAID 0 array with 36gb Raptors... Thanks for the info!
Tas.

The CPU Utilization seems high on that synthetic bench.

With one Raptor its 8%, This is REALLY good for nVIDIA RAID why ?

Cuz, 1 yr. ago i did the same now with a NF3 chipset the Utilization was 30%

4 disk RAID on the mobo? Wow, mobo chipsets have come a long way... Do you have read & write back cache enabled, or do you not have those options? Just checking... Can the chipset do RAID 5 as well, or just RAID 0?

My single 74GB Raptor on the NF4 SATA controller is 4% using the same benchmark.

Looked at using SCSI... But for $600 for a 300gb drive, It would have costed me about $3k for my RAID setup, instead of $1k. And I can keep adding more. Although those PCI-X SCSI RAID controllers are damned sexy.

Well, wouldn't it have been on a slower CPU as well? But I did think that was interesting... My external controller was using like 4%...

With what else do we test our hardware with then ?

He has a point. Raptors lose to DiamondMax 10s in Doom 3 loading tests. You can win all the 3D Marks in the world but suck in gaming performance and then what.....

So WD is lying when You buy a new raptor, when it says right on the box "World's Fastest hard Drive"
