4 X 1 GIG DDR2 in eVGA 680i? Works?

I noted that within the manual it says my eVGA 680i mobo can handle up to 8 GiGS or RAM (or populating each of the 4 DDR2 slots with 2GIG sticks). Aside from limitations within WindowsXP and such, has anyone tried? Did it kill your timings or OC?

I tried doing a search here for anything on 4 GIGS or RAM but found only AMD issues and posts.

I guess I am just asking if the newer Intel chipsets or Nvidia 590 680 etc... had the same issues with more than 2 GIGS of RAM or have they addressed this?

Windows will only see a portion of that 4 gigs. I think it's like 2.7 gigs. So I wouldn't waiste your money on on it unless you are going to use VISTA.
I think VISTA will see your 4 gigs.
