looks like the red sox are going to sweep the angels. if the yankees lose tonite, that's 4 sweeps.

i don't remember that ever happening before in MLB.

Yes, Clemens has pitched once in the last month. He'll get hammered tonight. $3 million for everyone of his wins, he was a bargain!!!

what a way to cap a very very strange season.

yankees start off like they will finish 3rd or 4th in their own division and end up with the wild card.

the mets start off as clear favorites to win the NL and lose their division.

the cubs start off like the yankees, win their division and then get swept.

the phillies, improbable division win and then get swept.

shoot, we are looking at a rockies vs diamondbacks NLCS.

weird weird weird.

the red sox probably have the best chance of winning it all.

this has been a collective yankees stink, not just ARod.

except the great Giambino of course who is hitting .500 for the series.

put away the brooms. looks like the yankees won't be swept.

the thing is, if the indians lose tonite, they will probably lose game 4 as Wang (a COMPLETELY different pitcher at home than on the road) will probably get a win and then Pettite in game 5 (where anything can happen). but seriously, pettite is one of the most clutch post season pitchers in the MLB today.

8-3 NY after 6.

Does Clevland have the heart and the skill to come back?

I think Mussina gets the start with Wang backing him up no?? Wang on short rest could be dicey but if his sinker is low instead of high like the first game then he'll do fine. Game 5 will surely be Andy vs the combo of Sabathia and Carmona.

against jaba and mariano?

i'd say that is a tough pair for anyone to score 6 runs in 3 innings off.

i think you have to go with Wang because of his record at home vs on the road.

i was surprised that joe used him game 1 tho. i thought he would save him for game 3, pettite game 2 was good.

also, good thing he had hughes in reserve. mussina could never have done what hughes did tonite.

puzzling why Chamberlin didn't throw more fastballs given the situation and
considering he can bring 97-100MPH heat...
