4 port USB Hubs - $9.97+s/h (non-powered); $19.52 AR (powered)

PCBay is a little cheaper if you are willing to buy from a Yahoo store. I get $8.62 as their cheapest shipping, so it saves a little under a dollar. Good find.

I also just noticed this powered hub from Overstock for $23.99. With free shipping and a 10% off coupon this might be a good option for those who do not like rebates.

My local Gamestop store (an EB store) had black 4 port USB hubs for $8.99, unpowered of course.

Also, if you have a FuncoLand B&M near you I picked up a 6' optical digital cable for $5. They also have gold plated Component and S-video cables for PS (1 &2) for $10!

I just bought the Powered Dlink 7 Port USB Hub DSB-H7 for $35.00 from Newegg.com with a $20 MIR. $6 shipping so total is $21 AR.

I just got a Shark Hub for Playstation 2 for $10.xx out the door. It will also work on most PC's. It's a powered 4 port hub. I got it from the EB/Babbages thread over the weekend. Just my $0.02

<< What's the advantage of powered hubs vs. non-powered hubs? >>

sometime the device itself can't get enough current by itself. so, you'll need a usb hub that is self-powered to give your usb devices enough juice to function properly. btw, i got my self-powered 4 port usb hub from Compgeeks for $10. Shipping is like $3.19.

1 USB Port has a 500mA power. So if you use a 4-port non-powered USB hub, each port only has 125mA of power.

There for if you use a USB device that requires more than 125mA, it will not work. The powered hub, each port has 500mA.

Hope that helps.

xircom makes great usb hubs! i have one for more than a year by now. it works great. too bad that after intel acquired xircom, they decided to get out of peripheral business. perhaps i should snatch one of these 7-port ones. but then, green? :frown:

Geeks has some really good prices on hubs, if you don't mind the funky colors. You can get a matching keyboard, speakers, mouse, and powered hub all for just a few dollars more than the hub itself. They have the whole kit in "translucent blue" for $19.95 (plus $8 shipping) here. The description even promises that it is "Very Stylish". 🙂

For the same prices, why not just by these from Computergeeks. They have a Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers & 4-Port USB Hub LINK for $19.95 or a Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers & 7-Port USB Hub Link for $27.95. Just my two cents worth.

Hey rockon123....that hub I mentioned above is the Shark Port USB hub. I assumed it was unpowered, so I didn't get it. Knowing now that it is I'm already halfway out the door to get one!🙂

It's quite cool looking too, stands vertically like a cable modem, and it's black.

I bought my powered 4-port Belkin hub from MicroCenter b&m about two weeks ago for $20. It was a Mac hub, but they had an identical looking one for PC/Mac with a different product # (and cost $13 more). The unit works fine with my PC. I think they are the same thing though. Anyway, I'm not sure if it's still on sale, but the product # is 444158.

With as small as this shark hub is, I bet I can get it mounted in one of my 5.25" drive bays. I've got a bit of clutter as it is--don't need more clutter from the hub. Just thinking out loud.
