4 PC3200 DIMM's + E6 Venice = 333MHz?

I thought the E6 stepping and above could run 4 DIMM's at DDR 400? I'm using a 3200+ E6 Venice, A8N-VM CSM, and four 512MB Corsair Value Select DIMM's.

Hmm, I don't see anything about it in the user manual. Ah well. Not a huge deal, I guess, I just added another pair of sticks because I got a good deal on them.

The motherboard may have just defaulted to 333mhz on it's on, but you should still be able to manualy change it back to DDR400 and it will work fine.

I've got the memory speed manually set to 200 MHz in the BIOS, but it's still POSTing as 333. I'm wondering if I need to set it to 2T as well.

That didn't work either.

I don't see how it can be a motherboard issue as the memory controller is on the CPU.

I can live with it though, I just upgraded the memory for as long as I'll be using the onboard video.

Its odd that you can't use 4 DIMMs and "OC" them to DDR400

Yeah, most mobo's will default to DDR333 even on a revision E chip that supports DDR400 with 4 sticks. It's usually a simple matter to crank it back up to 200Mhz and away you go.
