No, you won't. You will see the exact same hardware as all of the other manufacturers produce with MAYBE a slightly better camera and a "crazy" color on the back. All WP7 phones use the EXACT same SoC and are boring. The differentiation is ridiculously small between phones.

Meh SoC is only one part of a phone, I've had more than one dual core android phone and I sold them, just because a phone has a good SoC doesn't mean it can't have other flaws.

Okay, I understand how WP7's hardware requirements work. I wasn't talking about CPU specs, I was referring to Nokia's build quality. Nokia is probably the only other smartphone manufacturer that makes devices on par with Apple's. They use quality materials like aluminum bodies, gorilla glass screens, AMOLED displays, Carl Zeiss lenses, etc.

And no, the camera isn't just slightly better. The camera on the N8 blows away the camera on most smartphones. Most reviews say it's comparable to a mid-range point-and-shoot camera. As someone who owns both a point-and-shoot and a DSLR, it would be nice to have one less device to carry around.

Finally, MS has said that they will be expanding Windows Phone to run on other SOCs in the future. The rumor is that Nokia will use ST-Ericsson's dual-core A9 SOC in some of their devices. But yeah, WP7 hardware is "boring" because WP7 runs wonderfully on old 1st-gen Snapdragons, whereas Android lags and stutters even on a Tegra 2.

Yeah the EVO4G has a pretty crappy GPU (same as WP7 devices coincidentally), honestly for the next wave of windows phones I'm hoping a company takes some initiative and uses a better gpu than the adreno 205 which has been approved so far. It's a big improvement over the adreno 200 but still falls behind the powervr gpu's.

What is this good dual core Android SoC you speak of? Unless you had the SGSII, you did not have an android phone with a good SoC.

Why do people hold the Tegra 2 up as some good SoC? Its not.

It's far better than a Snapdragon, the point he was making was pretty simple.

I did have a GS2, but I've also used an atrix, like Quebert said though they're both faster than the snapdragon so I don't see your point. The only complaints I had about the GS2 though was that it had a weak headphone output, it doesn't have a good headphone amp like the original SGS phones did, and the GPS performance is not as good as other android phones, it would hover around 8-10m outside while other android phones I've used lock in at 2-4m. So yeah even though it has probably the best SoC out there the GS2 does have some flaws.
