how long did it take? I left it for about 5 minutes and after it said it read the file, it didn't do anything, and when I tried to click on another window, photoshop crashed...gonna try the 240 meg one in a sec.

~26k apiece, I'll be letting it run. Once I have it I'm willing to burn them & mail them to people for the cost of the package + shipping (probably under $2 total).

I got an "error parsing the TIFF file" when opening the 240 meg file in PS7 (yes, 7).

I'm opening the 400 right now, but I gotta head out to work in a few minutes so I don't think it's going to finish before I have to leave.

[EDIT]Nevermind, the 400 opened[/EDIT]

Not only did it open, I can easily move around & zoom. I think the 240 is corrupted somehow.

BTW, I'm running dual 1800+'s with 512 MB DDR & WinXP Pro.

<< how good is this?? can u see your house? >>

We've covered this several times already, but I'll say it again:

The resolution of this picture works out to around 4 pixels per square mile. It's actually more like 4.47, but we'll simplify it by saying four per square mile. That means each pixel represents an area that is 2640 feet square. That's 2640 per edge, or 6,969,600 ft².

So anything smaller than 1/2 mile by 1/2 mile will not be distinguishable as anything more than one pixel. You can see land formations, bodies of water, & probably cities (I didn't have enough time to spend looking), but you can't see buildings, cars, sports arenas, or anything of that nature. They're simply too small.
