I was going to.... but $17 for shipping. If it was $40 total or less I probably would have gone for it, but I'm just a poor college kid. ;)

yep, $15+ shipping sux.
Consider alternative deal. Compusa Sells Altec Lansing 215 (5.1 as opposed to Logitech 4.1) with a free Turtle Beach Sound card worth $50 for $99.

Yeah the shipping just about killed it for me, but no tax for me and its a big heavy box.
Edit: OOS now.

I hear that. I saved and saved for my current computer which I purchase over a year ago. I have a GTXP but am only using Altec Lansing ATP3 speakers (which was the only thing I kept from my previous computer) with the intent of upgrading as soon as I got money, and I'm still using them!

They aren't bad speakers, but I feel my GTXP is basically going unused with this 2.1 setup.

If the shipping were free, I'd jump on this :) Dang college :)

The better alternative is to get this from OD using the $20 off $50 coupon:

Mine was......

Logitech Z-340 Speakers (49.99) + Extra gum (0.89) - $20 + tax = $33 and change

these are refurbs for Z-540's, not the 340's.

but $33 for a new set of 340's isn't bad!

I picked up the z-540's at compusa back in that 49.95 combo deal (z-540's + turtle beach soundcard). Anyway finally hooked them up today to the turtle beach soundcard and it's some good stuff =)

Man, they really sneak that in at the bottom don't they.

I still think that this could be a great deal. Only problem is if they go bad or somethin but for the price it's worth the risk. My brother bought these for over twice the price and I think it was worth it at that price.

I hate the thought of paying $17 shipping also. But I just had a PS shipped to me and the shipping on that cost > $14. I guess what I'm saying is for something that costs < $40 and is as big as this set, $17 seems to me to be in the right ballpark.

I'm curious also about the "$50 at Compusa". I saw the $80 deal which was tempting.
