We will be having a 4 hour outage on Monday, 11/19/2007, starting at 10:00 PST. The purpose of this outage is to reroute many of the power cords for the project servers, rearrange some of our UPSs and pull deprecated equipment out of the server room.

looks like taiwan might get spared after all
maybe not, however. I've noticed that many of the top 20 are way over their usual averages. if we can keep that up then we might be able to sustain 150 after all...probably enough to catch taiwan after all the pending gauntlet credits are factored in.

Well I guess we might pass them, but don't forget quite a few people switched just for the race (as planned) ,hopefully enough people will stay on to keep us ahead of Taiwan

yeah, that's going to be the tough part. I mentioned in the gauntlet thread that we need to continue using the optimized clients. They've really helped me a lot, probably on the order of a 20% improvement on existing systems. It should take about 150k /day to keep us ahead of taiwan. Man, they're gonna be mad when china passes them...hopefully we'll pass them first!
