You are stupid. China does fab(assemble, test and package) the Intel CPU's, just like Costa Rica, Manila, etc. They don't fab the wafers which you think is a cpu. Your husband can't be as stupid as you. Oh wait, he married you. If you did pass grade school, you would know that your definition of fabrication of a cpu is not correct and for some stupid reason, you reply back to myself and MichaelPatrick that we have a problem with reading comprehension. But I think I did get a graduate degree from a top school and know how to intrepret a reading passage.

In the beginning of next year we have every chance to see a new label on the Intel Pentium 4 processors saying "Made in China", because Intel has finally made up its mind about the best way to use those $302 million from its performance fund. They built a new fab in Shanghai (China), which will be cutting, packing and testing Pentium 4 processors (made of 0.13micron wafers).

As for the wafer production in this country, Intel?s CEO Craig Barrett was very reserved about it saying it was too early to talk about production there. The chemical industry in China is not developed enough yet, as well as the business infrastructure. Anyway, they have already invested around $198 million into this fab, which is about the same as the other similar Intel fabs in Malaysia, Philippines and Costa-Rica required. So, the wafers will be as usual produced in the USA and Ireland.

The new fab is promised to be finished by the end of this year. There will be around 1200 employees, and by 2004 this number should increase up to 3000. We should only say now that it not the only Intel?s fab in Shanghai. There are special production lines manufacturing i845 chipsets and flash memory in this city already (to be more exact in its industrial area aka Waigaoqiao).

Be careful Clarky you are slandering me. Intel is not paying those workers the same$$$$ wages as the German workers are getting thats just smart business. If I faulted Intel for this I would have to fault most US companys for doing the same thing. I disaprove of outsourcing . But its just a fact of life.

If I faulted Intel for this I would have to fault most US companys for doing the same thing. I disaprove of outsourcing . But its just a fact of life.

Capt Caveman hubby says your wrong the waffers are the real deal. This is were the Tech is Waffers. But I am sure that you would argue the point as always .

That's it's opinion and it is wrong. But if you think wafer's are actual cpus, here's something to check out:

Intel starts fourth 300mm fab in Ireland(yes, the country outside of the US)

Don't tell her that....She probably thought it was a burrough in NYC (that is New York City ...Untelia!!!....

Thats great another English speaking country . I thought they were on my list I posted of countries I really like. I always liked those people. Lots of good Irish in america also . It would seem that Intel will trust other english speaking counties just as I do. Because of a common language. Again Intel shows great leadership. (We all new Ireland had waffer fabs)

Actually Intelia they speak Gaelic as an official language (along with English), also there are Irish immigrants in America just like there are immigrants from most other countries Ireland having immigrants in the US doesn't make them most countries in the world. In Germany students start leaning English is 3rd grade, I would bet that most in Germany would speak better English then you (the would that its knew not new).
