I've been looking around for 120mm case fans and most of the ones I've found have been pricey, especially after adding in the cost of shipping.

I think these fans are a good deal especially if you have another $7 worth of stuff you want to buy to take advantage of Amazon's free super saver shipping.

Edit: A bunch of people posted other 120mm fan deals. Here's a summary:

4 Cooler Master 120mm 45 CFM, 19dBA
~$19 shipped from marketplace sellers http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-M...nt-Value/dp/B000O8I474
$16 before shipping at Newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16835103052
$15 before shipping at SVC http://www.svc.com/r4-s2s-124k-gp.html (cheapest shipping would have been $6 for me)

4 Yate Loon D12SH-12 120mm 88 CFM, 40 dBA OUT OF STOCK
$20 before shipping http://www.petrastechshop.com/12yalod1cafa2.html

4 Yate Loon D12SL-12 Case Fan 120mm 47 CFM, 28 dBA
$20 before shipping http://www.petrastechshop.com/12yalod1cafa.html
shipping would have cost $8.51 for me

Cooler Master Blue LED 120mm 43CFM 22dBA
$4 each or $3 for ordering 5+ http://www.svc.com/200007680.html

Cooler Master Blue LED with speed control 120mm up to 110 CFM 16.5-38 dBA
$10 each http://www.svc.com/y720dcd-25t1-gp.html

Was about to jump on it for the side panel on my new stacker 830, but these fans only have 3 pin connectors. I've never had a motherboard with more than 3x 3pin fan connectors (and one of those is for the cpu). The cheapest 3->4 pin adapters that ship from a amazon (that I could find) thus qualifying for free super saver shipping are about 6 bucks a piece. If I had a fan controller or a mobo with enough connectors I'd definitely get it.

Could always just clip the 3 pin connectors off and solder on molex connectors.

If you want cheap case fans there's always Yate Loons from http://www.petrastechshop.com

Which I feel are a better deal than these anyway. Yate loons are about the best sleeve fans you can get.

In case anyone is wondering, this is only ONE fan, not FOUR.

Why do you have that impression? From a review on the Amazon link:

"Pros:

- the fans are as advertised, dead silent!
- screws are included for all 4 fans."

Word. Yate Loons are proper. Good thing I stocked up on those a few months ago, and still have 3 or 4 laying around (paid ~15 shipped for 4).

Those have high CFM and corresponding high decibels. I like yate loons too, but these CM's are quiet (low cfm though)

You're right, the picture of the large box wasn't there originally for me, or perhaps it was loading. At any rate, I didn't see it.

But, I was more speaking on experience more than anything else. I bought a while back an 80mm case fan from amazon, thinking that it was two, but only getting one. My fault, I guess, but the description and picture suggest I'll get two. Link

Frankly, I don't trust a lot of Amazon's product descriptions. As much as I love amazon, but saying it's a 4-in-1 value pack is kind of ambiguous.

But, in this case, it looks like I'm wrong.

So you guys better hurry up, there's only one left!

They sell low speed versions of Yate loons.

Yate Loons are sold in low, medium and high speeds. Besides being cheap, why people like them for being quiet is not that they are quiet running at 12v, but that they take well to being undervolted and at 7v or so running at really low RPMs have smoother sound without too much ticking noises that other fans may exhibit at the same RPMs.

As an alternative to Amazon, SVC has cheap Cooler Master fans too.

Cooler Master 4-pack 120mm fans $15

Cooler Master 120mm blue LED fan $4 or $3/ea for qty. 5+

Cooler Master 120mm blue LED fan with controller $5

An alternative would be to just use some 16 or 20 awg speaker wire segments and electrical/duct tape as a male intermediary between a molex connector from the PSU, and the 3-pin connector. Alternatively, if you don't plan on using the fans anywhere else, just cut the connectors off of the fans, and plug the wires directly in.

For this, I strip an additional 25 or 50% over what I need, and then just double it over, to make a barb. It stays in real nice.

I had some Pabst 24 volt fans, and just for fun, I took a printer power-supply and used the above technique to power the fans. Pabst quoted like 90 CFM, and a noise of 60 db. The case both felt and sounded like a jet engine.
