I usually don't go to see new releases anyway, and if I lived in the US (which I don't, argh), I'd get this deal cause I've spent enough on stupid movies.

amc theatre tickets down here are around $4.00 a piece and with student ids, down to $3.50 a piece
even at full price im not sure how they're getting $34.00
unless they're throwing in tons of popcorn and drinks

Really? Last time I went to a theater here, they were $11 a pop! (That is Canadian $$ though, so I guess that works out to about a dollar US? lol). Is this the case everywhere? $4 a ticket?

The AMC Mercado 20 theaters here in Santa Clara charge $9.00/ticket. $18 for 4 tickets is half price for me. Good deal. Free popcorn!

In Manhattan, 1 Adult ticket costs $9.50. No where near 4 bucks, heh heh. I can get student discount for $5 though, so I'd end up saving 2 bucks through the deal.

I've never seen any Manhattan theater give student discounts. If you know any please tell me. Also if you know any adult theaters that give student discounts please tell me too.

theaters in populated areas always charge more than those in more rural areas. If you go to Mann's Hollywood Chinese it's like 9 bucks a person +parking. If you go out into the valleys you'll pay considerably less.

These tickets are the standard "VIP" ticket price which some places sell as perks. I can buy them at work in unlimited amounts with that one caveat that you cannot use them in the first 10 days of release (they are for AMC, General Cinema and United Artists). Since the normal price for a movie here is now $7.50 and matinees are $5, it's a good deal for me.

Check your place of employment as they might offer these for you (assuming it's a larger company). Ours is actually offered through the building management company.

Ahhh....I remember the $3.75 matinees in Los Angeles.....they're now $8 here in Denver.
