GET. MOUNT. AND. BLADE.

You're doing yourself a favor. There's no other game out there that I know of that has such a fun third-person manual combat system.

There's also a sick MP mod called c-rpg, in which you level up your persistent char, buy gear for it, participate in sieges, lance people, hit em in the head with bardiches, run em over with horses, etc. It's absolutely addictive.

Warband is an upgraded version of the original, and I can't actually think of anything in the original that isn't in Warband. Warband is just a better game all the way around to be honest.

So no reason to buy original....I might finally just go for Warband. This game has gotten *alot* of talk.

Yeah, don't bother with the original. It's a good damn, but warband is basically just an improved version of the original.

hmm fire and sword looks interesting... played the hell out of the original, so the preorder is the only thing that interests me

Anybody care to take a stab at describing the game a bit more? Style of play, strengths and weakneses.

Played a bit of the Warband demo last night. Was a little turned off by the fact that even in the training area there were glitches; a huge section of the ground had the sky graphics instead (or was reflecting it?). Then I went to go round up 5 men and got ambushed by 4 guys and died. I guess my agility based character was a bad idea lol. Seems like it could be fun, but it seems sort of dated too. Dunno; do I pay the $6 and possibly enjoy it, or save that 10ish % of Skyrim/Diablo 3 costs?

To whomever playing or has played the game, can you describe what the game is like, or what game is it similar to?

The game is like nothing else out there. It deserves to be explored. Its games like this that keep the pc at the top in my opinion.

The game is like a cross between an RPG and a RTS. It is more a true role playing game, in that you actually play a role and it isn't as heavily abstracted as it is in standard RPGs. The combat is very similar to Oblivion, although they did a better job at combat than Bethesda. Still, the closest game I have played would be Oblivion when it comes to combat. Building armies is somewhat similar to Heroes of Might and Magic, in that you have to recruit from the cities and villages you own (or the prisoners you pick up). The city building is somewhat similar to HOMM as well, although this part is far more unique. It is probably the weakest part of the game actually, as your city/village building options are very limited.

The last time I played the game, the issues with maintaining nobles and the bugs with the noble AI annoyed me enough that I stopped playing. This is only really an issue late in the game, since it takes a long time before you are powerful enough to command a large number of fellow nobles. Also it is likely much better now, since TW was releasing patches on a nearly daily basis back then, so by now most of these issues are likely fixed.

Also on sale at d2d and seperately for cheaper if you stack a coupon.

Does anyone know much about 'with fire and blade'? Trying to decide between games to buy so I can play with my brother. Right now I have warband on steam. Haven't played too much of it though. I have a huge backlog I'm trying to work my way through.

I bought this one. Have a weird problem, hopefully someone else has experienced it.

If I enable AA in the game, any level of AA, whether HDR is on or off, my FPS absolutely tanks to like 3-5FPS

Using the rig in my sig 270.51 drivers. Anyone else get this same behaviour ?
