I haven't replaced an original HD yet. If I wanted to get one of these to replace my HD, does it have software that allows me to copy my entire existing HD onto this new one?........so I can disgard the old one ?

Don't hate me for not knowing.

it does; however, if you're using XP, there may be another method. Right click control panel and go to hard drive setup.

I just tried to install the ATA card and it would boot up but wouldn't get past the screen where it recognizes the pci mass storage controller.
Anybody?

muffstah,

Put your HD to the onboard IDE (removed your old ATA if has one)
Install your ATA133
Boot to XP and install your new ATA driver
Shut windows down
Move your HD to your new ATA and
Enjoy your new HD.

Argh, just went to my local Staples and they wouldnt take the 30 of 150 coupon. Manager was pretty adamant about it. I think I'm gonna go back tomorrow and make more of a fuss about it. They had plenty of the drives though. Stupid ass Staples.

did you try that new coupon listed a couple posts above, it's totally legit, no reason for them not to take it?

A right way to make the deal:
Add
#471112, $20 with $20 MIR inside box.
#471535, drive itself.
and some clips, ACC72380 to over $150
then $30 off$150 coupon.

Bingo. You get it $99.99 free shipping.

Happy shopping

Just ordered it!

Couple of queries though.

Can the pci card support 2 133 drives, via a two plug ide cable??

I got a mxtor 40gig a while back and would like to double up and raid if possible.

Maxtor link, doesnt say much.

Thanks for the help.
