3tb drive + Asus P6T

I'm thinking of getting a 3TB hard drive, but I've read they have a lot of compatibility issues. Will I have any issues getting this to work with a first gen Asus P6T motherboard? It won't be a boot drive. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit.
