Most guys that know SVS have tried Epik, Rythmik, ED, and HSU.

Are you trying to be an ass on purpose?

MOST have?

Actually MOST end up buying a setup and sticking with it. Unless you are talking about dudes on some random forum that post in one breath about their $3000 car and then in another about a $50k home theatre in their $300/month apartments.

MOST also buy far too much sub and ignore their mains.

It's not uncommon to hear about the dude that financed and SVS/HSU sub and then picked up $40 polk specials on amazon and a $200 reciever.

Post a survey then. SVS is internet direct and no where near b&m knowledge of velodyne and other crappy sub manufacturers. So, if someone has searched for SVS they will stumble upon the other internet direct companies, and may even learn about IB applications in the process.

I would agree that people ignore their mains and side surrounds. Post a pic of your setup.

I'd wager that you don't even know what mains I'm running.

One of my friends in Chicago has a nice open loft with a great K-horn setup...so sexy. That said, I don't know if I could make the switch when I decide on my next system.

I have pics of my setup already up...but no one really needs pics:

Yamaha HTR-5690
Klipsch Quartet Mains with upgraded crossovers and titanium diaphrams
Klipsch Academy Center with upgraded crossover and titanium diaphram
Klipsch RS-25 rear surrounds
Emotiva Ultra 12 sub

The last two items are more or less fill in for now...the others I have had since the 90's.

Prior to moving to Klipsch this was my first real system around 1997:
Rotel RB980 (125x2 watt amp)
Rotel RSP960 (surround sound processor)
Rotel RT940 (remote control tuner)
Marantz CC65SE (cd carosel limited ed)
Definitive Technology BP20s
Definitive Technology BP10s
Definitive Technology CLR1000
Mondial Magic
Mitubishi U560 VCR
Mitsubishi 35" TV

I got my parents to go for Chorus II's and an Academy center as well.

That's not my setup. I still have my CRT TV. That's going to change soon, I become debt free by July...about $12k left to go. My payments per month would easily cover a 55"er at full MSRP.

good to hear. that CRT looked so out of place lol

Well when the lights are out the picture quality of that set is pretty epic. It's been calibrated...that's been one of the biggest stopping blocks like my Sony Trinitron monitor I had.

Flat panels have caught up though...posting on an NEC 2490WUXi. If I wasn't so anxious to pay off debt I'd have gotten a KURO. I wish I did now since they stopped making them. However other sets have really caught up.

Having an extra $2500-3000 a month is going to go a long way 🙂

Here is the dining room of that guy with the Jubilees:

Nice, you still can't guess mine.

you're making $200K+ a year. why can't you pay off your 12K debt at once?

Well that's a good question skippy! First I just picked up a 50% raise recently. However; outside of that I was still sending an assload of money to these debts which on January 2009 were still over $40k. Not to mention that things still came up that required a bit of putting a hold on paying off my financing such as a couple surgeries for my pets, new washer, dryer, and dishwasher, new water heater, a couple major car repairs.

and of course I am trying to power save for some emergency money and investments. I just sent $11k to Vanguard to start an IRA for myself.

So don't you worry your little soul about me, I will catch up soon!

^ glad you cleared that up. I was starting to sweat buckets over your financial situation. So I thank you sir, for clearing me of the burden of worrying over you.

It's understood, however; I'd spend less time worrying about others and work on yourself. Maybe you can be great like me one day too.

:awe:

Sub
twin 18" Elemental Designs A7-900

^thats a sub people not boom boxes

lol, if they are colocated and stacked, better make sure the floor joists underneath are still in good condition. Some older floors, not well taken care of, may have trouble with 800 lbs distributed on a 26"x27" area 😀
