3DS vs Switch for Pokemon?

Actually the new 3ds lacks the ds game slot, so the only chance for older pmon is if it's in the eshop.

Not true, I have a New 3DS and DS games such as Pokemon Platinum work just fine on it.

Ahh I guess it was GBA after all. I though DS and 3DS cards were different.

3DS cards have an extra tab to prevent them from fitting into older non-3DS systems (as you'd expect). Regular DS cards fit the 3DS just fine (also as you'd expect).
