hey im working with 3d max and 3d viz and wanted to know if anyone knew a place where i could DL matlib files, which are libraries of various materials than can be applied to objects in your scene, if you know of any, please let me know, thanks

Yeah, make them or buy them. You can find large sets of materials for sale on some of the 3d art sites.
