3DS Game Suggestions?

Recently got my hands on a new 3DS MM edition. So I'm looking for good games to play. Currently on my list is:

Bravely Default
Fire Emblem Awakening
Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

Anything else?

That'll depend on what you like for games. I have a 3DSXL (blue Smash) that I have been planning to sell because I thought I'd never play it, but after not getting any firm interest in a couple of months, I'm thinking of picking up some games myself.

The main games I want are Fire Emblem: Awakening and Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. Mario Golf: World Tour is probably the #3 game, and I might snag some Pokémon Game, eventually. Mario Tennis is on the fringe for me, and there are some Mario platformers to check out, too. Oh, and if you got the Majora's Mask N3DSXL, I imagine you'd have interest in the Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time remakes, along with A Link Between Worlds. Original DS games also work on the 3DS, of course, and there are a couple of Zelda titles on it you could try (Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks).

Best buy has B2G1 free on used games this week, in case you didn't know. Their stock isn't great for the popular, lesser-known titles (like Awakening, Pokémon, and Zelda), but you might take a look at what they have used.

The Zelda games, unless you already played the 2 remakes on the n64 then just Link Between Worlds

Zelda is always must have. If you own a Nintendo console without Zelda, there's something wrong with you.

The new Pokemon games are actually really good. I hadn't played a Pokemon game in a really long time and the new X and Y made me remember why they were good.

Super Mario 3D Land
NEW Super Mario Bros. 2
The Legend of Zelda A Link Between Worlds

...are all must-haves I would throw on top of what you already have.

Or, there's something wrong with Nintendo for making their games come with never-ending tutorials that suck butt. It's why I could never get off Tutorial Island in The Wind Waker HD.

Also, thought you meant Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Since Best Buy has its B2G1 on used games, I was thinking about getting a Pokermans, but the only in-stock ones were those two and maybe Y. So X and Y differ in any meaningful way, or just the usual game-exclusive Pokémon?

that's a pity, you missed out on an amazing game.
I got bored just like you on that first island and gave up on the game within an hour.
picked it up couple years later on a whim, grit my teeth through the tutorial, and never ever regretted it.

animal crossing but i'd pick up the digital copy. it's a game you hop in fora couple of hours a day or you might play it for a week straight and then drop it for a while.

attack of the friday monsters: a tokyo tale is pretty cool. it's card battling game with great animation. goes on sale for something like $5 on the eshop.

most of the first party nintendo games are good. if you like rhythm games final fantasy themerythym curtain call is good.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I tried Animal Crossing during GCN era, but never much got into it. Would the new one change my opinion?

Nah, it's more of the same except now you get to be mayor and can build projects in your town like a coffee shop, police station, fountains etc. Fishing, bug catching, diving for underwater animals, shell collecting and digging up fossils to donate to the museum are standard daily activities. There's a few new additions but the gameplay is much the same and if the charm didn't grab you before, this one would be no different. I liked collecting and seeing what is new day to day and week to week. I admit it's not for everyone.

Zelda: Link Between Worlds seems pretty good so far.

I haven't played it, but New Super Mario Bros 2 is probably OK (an A-list title).

Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is practically impossible to find new in the US now.

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D (3DS version of the Wii game)

I played the first few worlds on Wii and it was really good.

Super Mario 3D Land

I'm getting the new 3DS XL soon just for Xenoblade Chronicles.. never got a chance to play it before.

LOL, just did this myself.

Playing through Bravely Default right now (note: if anyone else here is, PM me and we can exchange friend info...)

I can honestly say starting BD reminded me of when I was a kid and started playing FF 2/3 for the first time. It has been FANTASTIC. Love it...

Instead of opening my sealed (long story) Xenoblade for Wii, I figured to play it on the 3DS. 😉

I just ordered Bravely Default and Fire Emblem after a recommendation. Can't get Xenoblade this weekend so I'll be playing one of those beforehand.

I preordered Xenoblade Chronicles as well. I have no idea why, because I have it on Wii and don't plan on getting a New 3DS anytime soon, and most of its epic scale will be lost on 3DS, but I do love the game so it just seemed necessary.

I also picked up Code of Princess while I was at it. Reviews seem favorable, but I notice I never see it on anyones list of must haves. I may pick up Bravely Default at some point, but I played the demo and just couldn't get into it...

Does anybody know if they changed much from the Wii version? Specifically the voice overs?

I'm not usually one to complain about voice acting, but my God, the over-the-top silly British cockney accents were just too much. Completely destroyed any sense of urgency or seriousness to the game.

I ended up switching over to the Japanese voices with subtitles.
