Intel processors seem to do much better clock per clock than AMD counterparts on this benchmark. I think the SSE is implemented better than 3dNow!.
It seems like your FSB is really holding you back. Why don't you try raising that a bit and try to get over 800Mhz on that chip. Should be easy to do.
That's less than what my friend scored with an older(Katmai?) P3-500 and a TNT2 Ultra card. While his video card is faster than yours, and his FSB was higher, it seems that the extra 233Mhz and full speed L2 cache you have over him should be able to make you beat him.
Your TNT2 card is probably a MAJOR bottleneck, why don't you overclock it until it either blows up or you can buy a new card? GF2 GTS cards are getting VERY cheap now, and they give you alot of power in games. MX cards are really cheap, and they'd still give you awesome performance. Because with a 2700 score, I know you must have to turn detail pretty far down to get smooth gameplay on new games.
