3DMark2000/2001 question...

When I run these benchmarks, it skips a couple of tests because it claims there is no hardware support. Ok, fair enough. But i got a Geforce2 GTS, i thought this would be able to do all the tests. Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Those are the tests that utilize the new features of DirectX 8. The Geforce 2 is not a fully DX8 compatible card, whereas the GF3 is. That is why the GF3 whoops the GF2 in 3DMark2001, but it doesn't in 3DMark2000 because that is only uses DX7 instructions. Level playing field in that case.

Specialy the 2k1 demand ALOT from your video card. I have heard that: Game 4 - Nature,Environment Bump Mapping, Pixel Shader Speed demands a Geforce 3 just to be able to run them. So dont worry or upgrade......

Also in 2000 your video card probably skips the EMBM, or whatever it is. The Environmental Bump Mapping that was soooo beautiful on the G400.

This happens to me too. I don't get a score either. Never bothered me but, I always wondered if this was normal.
