this is my first time running 3DMark06, and my graphics tests ran fine but when the cpu tests started i was getting about 1 fps average. you can see my rig in my sig. is it normal for the cpu tests to fail with a Q6600?

my rig scored 11503

According to the 3DMark manual, the test is constrained to run no higher than 2fps regardless of the CPU.

his problem is with that cpu tests that runs at around 1 fps twice in a row. it's nice to know that it won't go over 2, I guess that means that my 1.684 is pretty good!

Ahhh ok, Yeah mines the same 1-2fps.

Why do futuremark (MadOnion) do this, why not make somthing that the cpu can playback fluidly and is nice to watch, instead of this slow long winded slide show.

I get near 2 on the CPU 1 test and well over on the CPU 2... My system isn't anything special, it was at 9x400 x 2.5 mem timing, PCI bus at 110%, video card OC's as in my sig...

hey, how long have you been running that rig? We've been having a discussion in another thread about the right psu for felang. He's looking to oc his G0 quad to 3.6. He's afraid to use a 520 hx b/c of the load ratings on it and/or long term system stability concerns.

I've had mine up for 3 or 4 weeks, tweeked it up to 9x400, got it stable then stopped, the cores were getting up in mid 60's, too hot for my tastes, so I lowered to 9x380 the cores get up into the low 50's under load... Nothing in particular is HOT, the PSU is just warm, but the area around the entire unit does get warm. I

have slowed it to 3.1 and really have not noticed any performance difference while modeling , The 520 has been just fine; I have no regrets and would not get the larger unit unless I was going to do SLI..

FWIW.. Unless he gets a very special G0 he is not going to run it very long at 3.6 on air..
