I got a SM2-542, SM3-436, CPU-802 with my sig machine. Does anyone know if 3dmark06 is any useful comparison for real world performance?

It's as useful (or useless depending how you look at it) as any previous version of 3DMark.

its a number to show off your epenis imo

basically it has no real world use... if u can run games or photoshop or what ever the hell you do fine, who the hell cares about 3d marks... its mostly used for looking if oc's improved and even then it really isnt helpful

I agree that it's mostly e-penis related, the only thing I use it for it testing new hardware to ensure there isn't a problem somewhere. If I get a score 1000+ lower than a guy with the same hardware, then I could have a driver problem somewhere or something. That's really the only use for it that I see.

ok, that makes it all clear for me. Now if only I know how useful that previous version is ...

In that case, I suggest reading the 50 billion other threads on the validity of previous versions of 3DMark.

lol jeff.. u know peopel will never use the search button.. at should rename it CLICK TO CHECK EPENIS SCORE and it might work

I like 3Dmark because it compares similar hardware. If I am scoring in the same ballpark as people with similar setups, I know everything is good and dandy. If I score way below, then there is some tweaking to be done.

There's some validity there. That's about the only thing it's good for anymore (and some eye candy on occassion). It can also be a means of flushing out bad hardware, so there's some benefit there as well.
