3DMark06 & 3DMark05

With my rig listed below:

"GameRig" should I just use the 3DMark06?

I know that the 3DMark06 supports newer standards, but I wasn't to sure if I should just use, and that anyone with a newer generation box should use it as well.

Can someone give me some insight into this? Wouldn't 3DMark05 be getting dated?

THANKS

There are portions of 05 that crawl on beastly setups. I would use them both, well I wouldn't use either 🙂 but for you sake, use them both as you'll get different results. You rig appears to be about as sick as they come (compliment) My rig, let's just say I'll stick to 3dMarks03 😉

For what? Benchmarking? You're asking as if you plan to run 3DMark on a daily basis. Does it really matter? You can even benchmark with Quake 3 if you'd like. Just download, run both, and be happy.

igowerf, yeah just to see what test results I can get, then try to get faster results with switching video drivers around until I find the best performance and quality, that's all.

THANKS

bump, anyone else?

No not to run on a daily basis, just to run sometimes when I feel like it, or when new drivers come out to see if I can get faster test results, then based on those test results just pick the drivers I like.

THANKS

The latest version.
It uses features that are in the latest games.
Which is where most of the improvements come with new drivers.
