3dMark05 score question

Yes that was an Aqua Teen Hunger Force reference in my topic summary but my question still remains that shall be asked in the upcoming paragraph.

First my system specs:

CPU = AMD Barton XP2800+ OC'd to 3200+ speeds

Mobo = Asus A7N8X delux

RAM = 1024mb of Mushkin value DDR400

GPU = eVGA 6800 GT stock speeds with 71.24 Forceware drivers

Sound Card = Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 ( not that 3d mark guages this in tests)

Keyboard = OK this is getting tedious; on to my query.

I scored 4700 with change on 3dmark05 version 1.1. Is that normal? This test brought my rig to it's knees through parts of it as it crept along at 1 fps on the what I assume were intesive sections.

Now I was thinking of upgrading to an AMD Athlon 64 ( 3500+ 939) with most likely an Asus bran mobo this summer. If these tests are normal for the hardware I have now than I'm going to scrape together what money I have and visit New Egg and ZipZoomFly.

I almost forgot; I have a Samsung LCD 710T that runs at 1280X1024. I used the free version of the test and it runs in 1024X768. Would not running in native res muck up my PC's score?

I get around 4700-4800 with stock speeds on my GT, and around 5300 with overclocked speeds on both my cpu and gt... so you're not too far off
