3DMark05 and adding more ram?

I just added an additional 512 DC ram to my rig (new ttl 1g of DC pc3200). Before I added the extra ram, my 3Dmark05 was 4757 (Asus A8Nsli/3200+winni/512DCpc3200/Leadtek6800thd256-cor456-mem863/older seagate80g7200sata). Having added the extra 512, my 3Dmark05 only went up to 4758 :-( I had hoped that the extra ram would boost the overall sys. What happen?

I woudl definatly check into your settings as that is a very low score to begin with. My rig with an AXP 2.2ghz and a readeon x8pro gets over 5000. Check your bios settings then your windows settings as there must be something wrong.

3dmark scores mean didly skuat. 1gb of ram is fine any new game with that video card of yours.

Leadtek6800thd256 = 6800GT? ~4750 is not really low. Did you check the 3dMark database? Memory won't help your score unless the app needs more than 512MB and there is HD thrashing. I'm sure 3DMark just offloads all unneeded stuff to the HD before benchmarking.

3DMark scores are based off of video performance. Adding RAM won't raise your 3DMark scores since 3DMark mainly uses the video card.

You'll see the difference in games.
