btw, you'd probably have no problems at all with pushing your 2500+ up to 2.2 ghz (3200+ level), you're ram is rated to run at a 200mhz bus speed

Like kyparrish just said, you should bump that 2500+ up to 3200+ and run your ram @ 200Mhz.

I just dropped in the new P4 2.8E, overclocked 5% to 2.940 and my score came to 4009.
Sounds a bit low to me but maybe it's not. Any thoughts?

Sounds right. 3Dmark2k3 gets 1/2's its heart from your video card. The 9600XT is a top-o-line middle to upper class video card, while the 9800p is more of an top-o-line upper class video card.

So his video card is a little starved from his CPU, while your CPU is a little starved from your video card.

a little late reply, dont mean to resurrect this thread,

but on the question of overclocking, i tried once, but things got a little screwy, is there an easy, safe way to do this for a newbie, i dont mind pushing it up to 3200+, the speed would be great, but how do i do this? in the bios? what do i change?

also, should i oc the graphics card???

i have 4 fans + the powersupply in my antec case (back, 2 front, 1 side, PS), but the extra 3 (front and side) are turned off because it was just too loud, the fan on the 9800 pro is fine for now, but if i OC should i turn the other fans back on???

is it even worth it for the extra noise...

i have been playing a little ut2k4

ohh, on a side note, i havent gotten the far cry demo to work, after the loading screen it always crashes, this is with 3 separate downloads and lots and lots of differnet video settings, any idea as to what im doing wrong???
