Yeah with my A64 and GT stock I get 11111 so around 10000 sounds good for an AXP.

one more question. if he has his hard drive daisy chained with his 6800GT, will that lower his 3dmark scores, is it better to have the line soley feeding the video card?

I guess this clearly shows that the bulk of a 3dmark03 score is video card-dependent...which would explain my relatively low 6000-ish score w/ an ATI 9800 Pro even though I'm running a P4-3.2c setup...

In another thread, I'm trying to sort out Doom 3 benches that seem kinda low, but according to this thread, I'm doing better than should be expected.

Athlon 2500+ @ 2.1GHz (3200+ speed)/1 gig RAM/6800GT @ 404/1100 (61.77 WHQL drivers) = 11266 3DMarks

It's amazing to see how great the Battle of Proxycon segment looks compared to my old 5900 which slugged only 5826 3DMarks, an improvement of 93%!!! Wow!

No, it won't lower scores for anything. And aslong as they are no instabilities, daisy chaining it is fine.

Nvidia recommends that it be on it's own channel from the PSU, and then you can daisy chain from there. If it suffers from no instabilities then I wouldn't worry.

On a side note, I'm getting 9885 with a vanilla 6800 128 mb clocked @ 380 core, 777 memory

This is with a p4c @ 3.25 ghz.

If it's a SATA drive, you should use a seperate connector series from the PSU to hook it up. I just remember reading a post where someone said doing that, ruined their HD, and others chimed in, and agreed. If you don't have the luxury of doing that though, I really wouldn't worry about it.

Thats a good score either way m8!!
id say considering that its running a processor thats definatly not matched up to the graphics card, the GT's doing a great job of keeping the rest of that systems head above the water!!
would be intrested to see what the in game performance of that rig is though, my friends just doing a new rig ATM and hes just got his 6800 ultra, whist hes waiting to get his flashey bits hes dropped it into his current set up (2400+ / 1 gig / kt266a ) and TBQH its killing the 68U's potential.

Yep, that's about right. I had a 3.2Ghz/1GB/9800 Pro overclocked and got around 6K.

You are correct. In fact, gaming as a whole is by far more videocard limited. Even a 2.4 ghz p4 + 6800GT will beat a 3.2ghz P4 with 9800Pro (and by a fair margin) - Some benches Next time you consider upgrading your cpu for gaming, stop for a second, and upgrade your videocard instead.

Nick, that score sounds very inline. Why don't you use the Futuremark database to make a much more accurate comparison to equivalent systems?

My GT is daisy chained to my Raptor and I have no problems. I might fix it so the GT is all by its self one day but I havn't had a need as of yet.
