3DMark03 Question

I have been running 3DMark03 on my system to test overclocks, my question is this: are the scores that people post on futuremark or talk about here in the forums with distortionless images or distorted? I have had instances where I can run 3Dmark and it will run all the way through and I will post a score, however on some tests there will be visual artifacts, do you think this score should still count? For example I have posted a 6260 distion free on my system (2500/ 9800 Pro) system and 6400 with visual artifacts, do you feel both count the same? Sorry if I am asking a question that may have been asked before, but I couldn't find one in the achieves.

Oh yeah, both scores are 100% legit. You just ran 3Dmark'03 w/ a too high overclock on your card that produced those artifacts. You're pushing your graphics card too hard if you get artifacts, drop the core/mem a lil'

3DMark2003 is crap.

But no... if you can't run without artifacts it's not stable and shouldn't be considered a "valid" score (as if ANY 3DMark score is valid ).

also I can run the FSB at 210 and the sisoft sandra benchmarks fine, but when I run 3Dmakr03 it crash's. I guess my question is, what is considered stable?

Ludwig, what we consider stable is the ability to run the Prime95 blended torture test for 24 hours or more, with 0 errors.

IMO, stable means that you can run anything on the system and it won't crash. My 2500+ will run at 3200+ on stock voltage, but the second I try Prime95 or run Folding@Home 24\7 the thing will crash left and right. Try to increase your CPU, memory, or chipset voltage (or all three) and see if that helps.

Running my CPU at 3200 hasn't really been an issue, more when i try to go beyond 3200 speeds is where I have had issues. I will probably keep it at 3200, I guess I was just wanted to see what you all considered stable, I will try prime95 and see how it goes. Thanks for all your responses.

I don't count 3dMark scores if I get artifacts. If I notice them I abort the test and lower my video card memory/core speed.

I thought artifacts mean that you were damaging your video card by clocking it too high. Is that true, or are you only going to damage it if you give it too much voltage?
